Who Likes Birds?

Hello! I’m Andrea and I like birds. I am a photographer. Before photographing birds, I was a professional event and journalism photographer. I was always interested in film and vintage cameras, too. When I met my wife, also a photographer, we made lots of photos of our adventures. In 2019, I found birds and they have since become the focus of my attention. I enjoy nature and wildlife, and that is mostly what I photograph now. I shoot with Sony gear, and many film cameras, too!

My wife Kim and I used this space for our Wandering Always project before it became Andrea Likes Birds. You may see a variety of posts, and Kim contributed her words and photos here, too!

Kim and I live in Southern California.. We enjoy being outside as much as possible and traveling to many new and favorite places! I volunteer with California State Parks for our Western snowy plovers and California least terns. I also volunteer with Irvine Ranch Conservancy for butterfly surveys and participate with various bird surveys around town, including Fairview Park and the Randall Preserve in Costa Mesa. I’m always happy with a camera in my hands, but especially at the beach with some shorebirds. I love Dodgers baseball, a good book, and anything birdy. And I thoroughly enjoy a good shot of espresso!
